The 10 Most Popular Dog Breeds

For all you dog lovers out there, listen up.
A new report from the American Kennel Club just revealed the most popular breeds for 2019 and many of your loved pets are back on top. Labs have been the most popular choice for over a quarter of years but there are some surprising breeds within the ranks. There's a good chance that you have someone you know who has had an French Bulldog in the past couple of years, and it's clear the reason. These adorable pups have rode their waves of popularity all the way to fourth spot.

Find the top 10 loved breeds below and visit the AKC website to learn more information about the list..

1.Labrador Retrievers

These active and playful puppies have held the top spot for the last 28 years. "This is a do-everything breed that needs to be with its humans," long-time breeder Erin H. Hall said to the AKC. "It personifies the definition of versatility -- hunting, showing, family, dock diving, tracking, obedience. It's as American as baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie."

2.German Shepherds

These trusted dogs often serve as police dogs or service dogs since they're incredibly loyal to their main caregivers.

3.Golden Retrievers

This friendly, intelligent breed is most likely to be the film mainstay of the breed, with the leading roles on Full HouseAir Bud, and Homeward Bound.

4.French Bulldogs

Frenchies are big on the inside but require little exercise. So it's no wonder that the large-eared dogs are the most popular choice for New York, San Francisco and Miami according to The AKC has announced.

5.Bulldogs

A presidential pick, both Calvin Coolidge and Warren Harding owned these dignified, courageous canines.
